Year End returns (March i-Connect submission) must be provided before 30 April 2025.

What is Year End?

The LGPS scheme year runs from 1 April to 31 March. At the end of each scheme year, it is a statutory requirement that all employers must provide the end of year return, for their LGPS members who were contributing to the Scheme for all or part of the scheme year.

Employers are responsible and accountable for the provision of accurate information supplied in a timely manner in line with legislative requirements.

Why is the Year End process important?

The data you supply about your members is used:

  • to provide their Annual Benefit Statement by the 31 August.
  • to notify them if they exceed the HMRC Annual Allowance by 5 October.
  • for the build-up of their pension account (CARE scheme).
  • by the Actuary to calculate your future employer contribution rates.
