LGPS regulation changes 2026: impact on Fund Employers

The Government have now regulated changes that will allow members to continue to build-up pension during periods of authorised unpaid and child-related leave. Following the regulation changes, employers must make amendments to processes and systems. These changes will apply from 1 April 2026.

Fund launches new Pensions Administration Strategy

1 April 2026

The Fund’s new Pensions Administration Strategy (PAS) has launched 1 April 2026. The PAS was finalised at the March committee following consultation feedback from our Fund employers.

We’ve launched a new online leaver form

12 December 2024

We’ve launched a new digital leaver form. We've redesigned the process to make it easier for you when your employees leave their role or the pension scheme. 

You can now complete all required information online, removing the need for paper forms.

Join other employers who are already using the online leaver form and benefiting from the new streamlined process today.

i-Connect task: Final Pay Submission

22 August 2024

Functionality has been introduced within i-Connect to enable the submission of final pay using the dashboard. When an employee leaves the LGPS; the Fund requires a calculation of their final pay under the 2008 scheme definition where they were a member of the LGPS prior to 1st April 2014. Tasks will now be created upon submission of a leave date in i-Connect for posts that meet certain criteria.
