Implementation of 2025 Local Government NJC pay award

Following the announcement that the Local Government Services National Joint Council (NJC) 2025/26 pay award has been agreed and back dated to 1 April 2025, any members who have left or retired since 1 April 2025 will need their benefits recalculated using the revised pensionable pay. Our new online retirement estimates form is now live. You can request an estimate for ill-health, flexible and redundancy or efficiency retirements.

LGPS 'Access and fairness' consultation launched

13 June 2025

MHCLG has launched a consultation on changes to the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) in England and Wales. The proposed changes are intended to improve fairness in and access to the LGPS.

The consultation closes on 7 August 2025.

Dashboard News: Address formatting

2 April 2025

Ahead of the implementation of the Pension Dashboard, it’s very important that all member addresses are recorded in the correct format, particularly the postcode.

This is because the address and postcode will be used to match members with their pension figures once the Pension Dashboard is live. 

New Neonatal Care Leave and Pay Regulations Announced

2 April 2025

On February 24, 2025, the Department for Business and Trade introduced the Neonatal Care Leave and Pay Regulations 2025. 

Under this new statutory entitlement, Assumed Pensionable Pay must be applied for to any Employed Parents who take Neonatal Care Leave (NCL), for babies born after 5 April 2025.
